The Management Development Institute of Singapore (MDIS) has announced admissions to two programmes for students in India – MBA in International Marketing and MBA in Banking and Finance. MDIS is Singapore’s oldest private not-for-profit professional institute for lifelong learning, and certified by Singapore’s Council for Private Education since 2010 for its business and quality excellence.

Offered in collaboration with Bangor University, UK, the MBA programmes are comprehensive in approach and developed to match the emerging needs of business demands across the globe. Open to fresh graduates and working professionals, both programmes are of 12-month duration.

According to Ms. Jessie Tan, Director, International Business, MDIS, “The MBA in International Marketing attracts many because it offers practical and real-life experiences in the form of fieldwork and problem-solving skills. While the MBA in Banking and Finance is attractive because Bangor University, which awards the qualification, is rated the No. 1 Business School in the UK for research in the field of Accounting and Finance.”

MDIS has welcomed over 400 Indian students among other international students from 82 countries, allowing students to understand the world through the eyes of different cultures and traditions, enriching their appreciation of various perspectives outside of the classroom.

Intakes for these two programmes are available in June and November 2015. MDIS also offers Merit Scholarships (International), awarded to qualified students on the basis of academic merit, leadership potential, special talents or other personal characteristics. These scholarships are valued at S$4,000 for Master’s programmes.

To offer international students an experience of living, learning and playing in an interactive and conducive environment, the MDIS Residences@Stirling is a 15-storey hostel located within campus, with 782 air-conditioned rooms, 14 suites, a lecture theatre and cafeteria. The eco-friendly hostel can accommodate some 1,700 students and is the very first hostel in Singapore to be awarded the Green Mark Gold Plus Award.

The S$35 million MDIS Campus in Stirling Road occupies a 3-hectare land area and offers 71 classrooms, 5 computer laboratories, 4 life sciences laboratories, 3 engineering laboratory and workshops, a hospitality training centre, a mass communications studio, as well as a fashion studio. The campus also has an amphitheatre to house art performances and other events, as well as fully-equipped sports facilities such as a gymnasium and badminton courts. Furthermore, MDIS is also certified to ISO-9001:2008 standards, and has a life science laboratory certified to OHSAS 18001:2007 standards.
