Making India Employable Conference & Awards Celebrates Excellence in Higher Education, Skilling and Employability

Mumbai, 11th September, 2023 – The Making India Employable Conference & Awards, co-presented by the India Education Forum and India Employer Forum and supported by TeamLease Edtech as the knowledge partner, was successfully held on September 8th, 2023, at Novotel Mumbai International Airport. This prestigious event brought together leaders, innovators, and visionaries in the fields of higher education, employability, and skilling to celebrate excellence and significant impact in India.

The Making India Employable Conference & Awards (MIECA) is a celebration of individualistic excellence, innovation, and real-world impact in the domains of education, employability, and skilling. These awards are bestowed on the very best of the best who showcase exemplary contributions towards the common goal of Making India Employable.

Dr Mashelkar, winner of Padma Vibhushan, and keynote speaker at the ceremony, said “This is the first time I have seen the burning issue of Employability of the Youth being brought to the forefront in such a powerful manner by getting some of the best minds from around the country together to talk in terms of the future and how do we achieve this particular future because The Youth is our future. Educated youth is not enough; employable youth is most important. Moving forward, we must make sure that our democratic dividend is something that we capitalise to catapult India to great heights and within that, the role of the corporate sector – their support and partnership is going to be very critical. The universities partnering with EdTech companies, TeamLease EdTech being a shining example, will be very critical in embedding the skills of the future. It was a great start, a great day and even greater expectation in time to come.”

The award categories for MIECA 2023 were announced during the conference. These awards celebrate those who actively participate in the process of educating and upskilling India’s workforce.

The event witnessed robust participation, with over 200 corporates and 250 universities contributing to more than 450 nominations. An on-site audience of approximately 200 delegates highlighted the widespread interest and commitment to improving India’s employability landscape.

The Making India Employable Conference & Awards served as a platform to explore innovative solutions, foster collaborations, and recognize individuals and organizations that are making a significant difference in India’s journey towards greater employability.
