DHARMAVEER ANAND DIGHE YUVA PRATISHTHAN APPLAUDS MAHARASHTRA POLICE FOR WORKING RELENTLESSLY DURING GANESH VISARJAN

16th September 2016; Thane: As the citizens of Thane loomed over celebrating the festival of Ganesh Chaturthi, Dharmaveer Anand Dighe Yuva Pratishthan took an initiative to thank the Maharashtra Police. The lord of goodwill and auspiciousness arrived in our homes on 5th September 2016 which was also celebrated as The International Day of Charity across the world. Various initiatives were organized to help people from various strata of the society, but the police force is the one who is often ignored and they work selflessly so that the citizens can enjoy the festival to the fullest. Kedar Dighe along with his team of volunteers provided 500 boxes of refreshment to keep the police force hydrated during the Ganesh Visarjan.

Ganesh Chatuthi is a Hindu festival and is celebrated in honor of the elephant-headed god, Ganesha. It is an auspicious festival celebrated to pray that every new activity that is started is successfully completed without any obstacles. The festival is celebrated by families at home, by people at their places of work and in public. The public celebration involves installing clay images of ganesha in public pandals and worship in groups.

The Ganesh idols are immersed on the 2nd, 5th, 7th and the 11th day of the festival where the idols are ceremoniously immersed and left to dissolve in the nearest water body. It is very natural that a huge gathering of crowds comes to the street to bid adieu to their favorite god. During such times, often, there are chances of the law and order situation to go wrong and the security forces are blamed in case of a mishap. “Over decades the Maharashtra Police has ensured that no untoward incidences happen during festivals. They are the ones who work for the people to maintain peace by staying away from their families and working round the clock. The situation is so intense that they do not even get enough time eat or drink. Dharmaveer Anand Dighe Saheb lived his life with values and a motive to serve the people. This is just a small step that we have taken on behalf of him to take his legacy ahead.” says Mr. Kedar Dighe, President of Dharmaveer Anand Dighe Yuva Pratishthan.

Dharmaveer Anand Dighe Yuva Pratishthan was established in the year 2006 and has since then been involved in number of activities focused towards the social and economic development of the people of Thane. The NGO is led by Shri Kedar Dighe, who is truly a new age leader and understands the problems of people to provide holistic solutions.
