KTI & Sathaye College Celebrates ‘Skill India Week’ On The Occasion Of ‘World Youth Skills Day’

11th July, Mumbai: Kohinoor Technical Institute (KTI) and Sathaye College today flagged off the mega ‘Skill Carnival’ at Sathaye College, Mumbai. A week-long skill festival has been organised to celebrate ‘Skill India Week’. The Skill Carnival was inaugurated by KTI’s CEO & Director Mr. Sameer Joshi and Principal of Sathaye College Dr. Kavita Rege along with other dignitaries and college students.
A week-long Skill Carnival is organised on the occasion of ‘World Youth Skills Day’ which is on 15th July 2016, with the series of events to spread awareness about skill development and technical vocational education from 11th July to 15th July.
Inauguration of Skill Carnival was followed by a surprised Flashmob by group of dancers and KTI students which created an electrifying mood amongst the onlookers in the college.
Hunar Bhi Rozgar Bhi, Kohinoor Ke Sang, a panel discussion was conducted right after the inauguration event, where key professionals from the Industry, Government and Skill Industry came together for an interactive session. The panellists for the discussion were, Mr. Prashant Sawant – Nanavati Hospital – ‎Asst. Vice President (HR), Mr. James Raphael – Retailers Association’s Skill Council of India (RASCI) – COO & Sr. VP, Mrs. Rekha Chaudhari – Global Wellness Ambassador India, Mr. Yogesh Kudtarkar – Reliance Retail Ltd – General Manager (HR), Mr. Devidas Deokar – Clear Secured Services Pvt. Ltd (A Facility Management Company with pan-India presence) – Executive Director, Mr. Nemish Doshi – Carrier Midea – Regional Service Manager.
On the inaugural ceremony of Skill Carnival, KTI’s CEO & Director Mr. Sameer Joshi said, “The objective of organising Skill Carnival is to inculcate the importance of Vocational Education in parents and students making it more aspirational by sharing real time success stories, conducting interaction between students and professionals from the Industry etc. And we are very pleased that Sathaye College, a prestigious educational institute is associated with us to support and promote Skilling. It is a heartbreaking reality that even today people perceive skilling and vocational training as measures of last resort – it’s time we bring in the change and make skilling a way of life”
This week-long celebration will include a series of activities to promote the importance of Vocational Skills for Livelihood like Panel Discussion, Technical Exhibition (wide range of technical projects made by KTI students from trades like Automobile, Electrical, Mobile Repairing, and Fashion Designing), Career Guidance Workshop, and will also witness the Launch of a new E-Learning platform for the youngsters. Registration is free for the visitors from 11am.
