Jerai Fitness Appoints Disabled Athlete ‘Sham Singh Shera’ As Its Brand Ambassador In association with NGO ‘Udaan’ & Chetanalaya Sham Singh Shera to train disabled boys and girls keen on becoming athletes

India’s leading exercise equipment manufacturer, Jerai Fitness In association with an NGO, ‘Udaan’& Chetanalaya today appointed a disabled athlete of international repute and a native of Punjab, Mr Sham Singh Shera as its brand ambassador in New Delhi., As part of their CSR programs, Sham Singh Shera will train disabled boys & girls who are aspiring to be athletes. In the initial phase a total of 20 disabled boys & girls have been selected who will undergo rigorous training under his supervision. Sham Singh Shera is an inspiration for every single polio-ridden person in the world who has emerged a victorious in life. This is also a way of generating employment opportunities for the disabled youth. This initiative would recognize their potential in athletes and advocate for changes in society to enable them to fully realize it and integrate them more fully into community life.

Mr Sham Singh Shera, whose right leg is Polio affected, has won many body building championships including ‘Mr World’ in Spain in 2011. He won a gold medal in ‘International Federation of Body Building’ competition in the USA in 2015. His victories include winning IFBB World Championship gold medalist twice (2011 and 2015), he has won Mr India champion ten times, he has been The North India champion thrice and he has also been the Punjab state champion multiple times.

Jerai Fitness Managing Director, Mr Rajesh Rai said, “I am honored to be associated with Mr Sham Singh Shera and Udaan to spearhead the CSR project of Jerai Fitness, primarily aimed at skilling young and disabled population of India. Sham is an icon for the disabled boys and girls aspiring to become world-class athletes.”

“It’s time for me to pay back to the society after self-introspection. Millions of fitness enthusiasts in India have contributed to the growth of Jerai Fitness. Within a short span of time, Jerai Fitness has become a credible brand in the fitness industry globally. Which is why, we are going to focus on a sustained CSR campaign in India in the years to come,” added Mr Rajesh Rai.

Jerai Fitness under its CSR program will organize a series of fitness training workshops in New Delhi and across the country to enable Mr Sham Singh Shera train disabled boys and girls keen on becoming athletes. This entire project will be funded by Jerai Fitness. Also, Jerai Fitness will donate exercise equipments to ‘Udaan’ associated with the welfare of the disabled population in New Delhi and other states.

Also, the vision of Jerai Fitness is to identify and groom talent in India on an ongoing basis through fitness talent competitions organized across the country. In 2014, Jerai Fitness launched its ‘Jerai Classic’ fitness competition. This annual event categorizes and promotes titles like ‘Jerai Strongman’, ‘Jerai’s Men’s Physique’ and ‘Jerai’s Women’s Fitness Model’.

In New Delhi, Jerai Fitness will organize a fitness competition at NCUI Auditorium on August 27, 2016 to identify the finalists from North India for the upcoming ‘Jerai Classic 2017’ fitness competition. Around 200 men and women athletes are expected to participate in this grand event. The winners will be selected by a panel of distinguished international fitness celebrities like Mr John Lucas, Ms Jenna Limerick, Mr Chantel Van Loggenberg and Mr Josef Rakich.
