Benchmark indices ended marginally higher on the last day of the week.
Nifty went up by 0.12% or 13.90 points and closed at 11,214.05 while S&P BSE Sensex went up by 0.04% or 15.12 points and closed at 38,040.57.
Asian Paints (4.65%), Bajaj Finance (3.74%), and Bajaj Finserv (2.77%), UPL (3.49%), and IndusInd Bank (2.63%) were among top Nifty gainers, while Titan Company (2.50%), HCL Tech (2.13%), and Infosys (1.98%), Sun Pharma (1.17%), and M&M (1.16%) were among top Nifty losers.
All sectoral indices except IT and Pharma ended in the green. BSE Midcap rose by 1.46% while BSE Smallcap went up by 0.78%.
Adani Transmission Limited
The stocks of Adani Transmission Limited went up by 9.26% and traded at Rs.252.50 after the company reported a growth of 66.5% in its net profit for the first quarter of the FY21. The revenue of the company, however, declined by 14.4%.
Balrampur Chini Mills Limited
The net profit of the company went up by 32% during the first quarter of the FY21 while the revenue of the company grew by 50.8%. The stocks of the company went up by 2.00% and traded at Rs.130.00.
Mahindra and Mahindra Limited
Stocks of M&M Limited went down by 1.16% and traded at Rs.602.60 after the company reported a decline of 97% in its consolidated net profit for the first quarter of the FY21.
Alkem Laboratories Limited
The consolidated net profit of the company went up to Rs.423.1 crore during the first quarter of the FY21 while the revenue of the company stood at Rs.2003.5 crore. Despite the decline, the stocks of the company went up by 4.64% and traded at Rs.3,000.00.
Tata Consumer Products Limited
The stocks of the company went up by 6.65% and traded at Rs.517.00 after the company reported robust earnings during the first quarter of the FY21.The net profit of the company went up by 82% while the revenue from operations rose by 13.44%.
The company reported a decline of 60% in its year-on-year net profit during the first quarter of the FY21. The stocks of the company tripped down by 5.80% and traded at Rs.881.95 in today’s trading session.
Pidilite Industries Limited
The company reported a decline of 95% in its consolidated net profit during the first quarter of the FY21 while the net sales of the company went down by 56%. The stocks of the company however surged by 3.16% and traded at Rs.1,374.00.
Vodafone Idea Limited
Stocks of Vodafone Idea Limited went up by 6.67% and traded at Rs.8.80 despite a net loss of Rs. 25,460.20 crore during the first quarter of the FY21.
Indian rupee ended lower at Rs.75.05 against the US Dollar amid the rising domestic equity markets in today’s trading session.
Global markets trade negative
Asian Markets traded lower in today’s trading session. Nikkei 225 went down by 0.39%, while Hang Seng tripped down by 1.60%, while Nasdaq went up by 1.00%. European markets projected a mixed market trend as FTSE 100 went up by 0.01% while FTSE MIB declined by 0.43%.
