Still new in the city Niharica Raizada (Miss India Worldwide 2011 & Doctor and Scientist by Profession) has never seen a festival like Ganesh Chaturthi in her life. She hopes to start keeping her very own Bappa from next year, but this year she celebrates with great zeal and enthusiasm the auspicious occasion with fellow Mumbaikers. Hailing from Luxembourg, she hints she would love it if Indian people back in Europe would also celebrate this occasion of Ganesh Chaturthi.

Wishing everyone a happy and prosperous Ganesh Chaturthi, Niharica says “Ganesha is one of the most beloved gods in the Hindu religion and he has 108 different names. Can you imagine! I just simple love his avatar during this festival. So colorful and embellished. He is considered to be a symbol of good fortune, wisdom, prosperity and wealth. I will pray really hard this year because I want all the blessings for my upcoming film release. This year I plan to go to my favourite Pandal, Model Town, and I will also be celebrating the festival with doctors at Asian Heart Institute in BKC and participate in my society Ganpathi Utsav”

Promoting Eco -Friendly Ganesha, Niharica Raizada says “Bringing eco-friendly Ganeshas home is extremely important because if we are worshiping God we must also protect nature, which is his creation. As human beings, it is in our interest to protect the environment and it`s also in line with our faith. I also find clay idols more aesthetic
