Greenwood High Student clinches Top 4th position in the US Kids Golf World Championship held at Pinehurst, NC

 Greenwood High International School student Ms. Avani Prashanth of third grade has finished 4th among 70 golfers in the US Kids Golf World Championship held at Pinehurst, North Carolina in the United States of America last week. Avani was the best performing Indian in the tournament who won 2 trophies being the top 2 in the team Challenge and top 4 in the individual tournament. Avani demonstrated superior skill, sportsmanship and character in the way she played and conducted herself in the tournament.

This year, as stated by the US Kids officials in the closing ceremony, over 1500 Golfers from 50+ countries upto the age of 12 participated in this prestigious tournament.

The tournament in her age category was won by Ms. Chloe Kovelsky of Florida, U.S.A. This is the most prestigious event in the World of Junior Golf that happens at the same venue in Pinehurst, North Carolina where the Men’s and Women’s U.S Open was held in 2013. No other junior tournament attracts as many talented players as this tournament does.

Avani has won all the tournaments that she has participated in South Zone Junior Golf in 2015. Avani started learning golf at the age of 4 under Mr. Nathan Sundaram. Presently she has been training at Eagleton Golf Academy since the last 1 year under Mr. Abdul Raheem K.H.
