The Canadian International School (CIS) organized multicultural day with many fun filled activities representing students from different countries in the world. The students took part in a display of culture and heritage in honor of the school’s diverse population. Around 800 people from 33 nationalities gathered at the event to celebrate diversity and international oneness. The aim was to commemorate multiculturalism and celebrate the forming of a global society made of staff, families and supporters of CIS.

Each of the country’s stall showcased the culture, tradition, music and fashion, history etc of the respective countries. The day was a vibrant, eclectic passage through countries and cultures – teasing the senses with multi-culinary dishes to taste and smell, vivid colours and sounds from parents and students alike, adored traditional costumes, ethnic wear and performing their local customary dances and songs. Parents and visitors were treated to exciting entertainment and resounding music by the school choir and band. The SCA hosted a Global Dance Party with a playlist curated from all countries.

“This event is my favorite experience on campus, as each year new wonderful performances and traditions are put on display and I learn something new each time. The event was so much fun to take part in and there was such a big turn-out”, said Adit Ganguly, IB 1A student.

Canadian International School prides itself on having an assorted student population and multicultural day encourages students to embrace other cultures and promotes tolerance at the school.
