Dragonair adds an additional flight service between Kolkata and Hong Kong today, bringing the total numbers of flights between the two cities from five to six flights per week. This additional service offers passengers greater flexibility for travel to Hong Kong and onward to other destinations through the extensive global network of Dragonair and its sister airline, Cathay Pacific Airways.

Dragonair is the only airline offering a scheduled non-stop service between Kolkata and Hong Kong and these flights are operated by an Airbus A320 aircraft. Kolkata, the second passenger destination in India for Dragonair, commenced passenger services in November 2012 with four departures a week and increased to five departures in October 2013. With the addition of the sixth flight today, Dragonair and Cathay Pacific together, will now operate 48 passenger flights a week from the six major gateways in India that include Mumbai, Delhi, Chennai, Bengaluru, Hyderabad and Kolkata to Hong Kong.

Cathay Pacific and Dragonair General Manager, South Asia, Middle East and Africa, Charlie Stewart-Cox said: “The addition of the sixth flight will offer more choice for corporate travelers, leisure travellers, traders, students and exporters to connect seamlessly with the 189 destinations in 51 countries offered by Dragonair and Cathay Pacific Airways. The convenient arrival time in Hong Kong is ideal for passengers connecting to cities in North America, Australia, Japan and South East Asia. This connectivity will help to further enhance ties between India and Hong Kong and will also help to strengthen Hong Kong’s position as a leading aviation hub.”
