Dr. Kavita Gupta, Textile Commissioner, inaugurates HGH India 2018 India’s largest trade show for Home Textiles, Home Décor, Gifts & Houseware with 550 brands

Mumbai, July 03 2018: HGH India 2018, the annual trade show for Home Textiles, Home Décor, Gifts & Houseware in India is back with its 7th edition. The three day exposition was inaugurated by Dr. Kavita Gupta, IAS Textile Commissioner, Govt of India.HGH India is the country’s largest trade show for integrated home products offering giving a unique opportunity to source world-class merchandise. The show will witness more than 550 brands and 100 exhibitors from 30 countries. They shall showcase their latest designs and product innovations. Aproximately 35.000 buyers, specifyers and decision makers are expected to come.

At HGH India 2018,  Dr. Kavita Gupta, IAS Textile Commissioner said, “HGH India has grown almost 40% from last year with 600 manufactures and brands. We as a country are in the positon to buy and promote domestic items in the home textiles Industry especially now as our tastes are evolving and becoming more trendy and fashionable. The Trend Pavilion at HGH is particularly important as it sets the theme for the home textile and décor trends for the Indian market.

The Government is offering 25% of subsidy for new investments along with income tax benefits which the home textile market will fully utilize. The Government is also actively looking at giving a positive push to certain areas of home textiles like anti bacterial property, fire retardency and other such innovations in  the textile segment.”

Commenting on the occasion Mr. Arun Roongta, Managing Director, HGH India, said, “This is the 7th edition of HGH India Trade Show and we are overwhelmed by the response. HGH India is a platform for manufacturers, retailers, exhibitors and many more stakeholders in the home fashion industry to connect and conduct business. Year after year, we have tried to deliver something unique to the Indian market with industry trends across home products. We aim to continue encouraging Indian home product industries to help elevate the supply for Indian retailers and institutional buyers.”

Under the theme of Indian Heritage, HGH India 2018 will be promoting handicrafts, khadi, coir and jute products; all of which are a part of India’s rich cultural heritage. Export Promotion Council for Handicrafts (EPCH), Handicrafts Mega Cluster Mission (HMCM), Council of Handicrafts Development Corporation (COHANDS), Kashmir Chamber of Commerce and Ministry, National Jute Board and many more are present at HGH India 2018 to exhibit their high quality products.

The backbone of product offering at HGH India is formed by many international and national top brands and renown manufacturers from home textiles, home décor, houseware and gifts. They come with fresh products, innovation and ambitious presentations  to be explored by the rapidly increasing demand of the Indian retail and distribution system.

One of the biggest highlights of HGH India is its outstanding investment in home fashion trends research and a concrete installation of more than 120 sqm of Trends Pavilion.This year’s home trends are presented under the theme ‘Transition’ which forecasts the Indian domestic market for 2018-19.
