Doddaballapur to have a well-equipped emergency ready clinic

Bangalore: Columbia Clinic Doddaballapur part of the Columbia Asia Group in India today announced that it is being upgraded from an 11 bed clinic to a 30 bed facility. The facility has been set up specifically for residents of Doddaballapur and adjoining areas and has all the requisite infrastructure to handle small and large scale emergency situations. This includes CT scan, ICU beds with ventilators and Operating rooms.

“The multispecialty clinic also offers a wide variety of affordable medical services such as Internal Medicine, ENT Minimally Invasive (Laparoscopy) Surgery, Obstetrics & Gynaecology, Orthopaedic Surgery, Dermatology and Paediatrics. The clinic is well equipped with a 24-hour observation room, dedicated labour & delivery room, operating room and outpatient specialty clinics,” said Dr. Sunil Rao, VP Operations, Columbia Asia Hospitals.

Speaking on the occasion, Dr.Nitin Jawahar, Hospital Manager, Columbia Clinic – Doddaballapur said, “Doddaballapur is located just about 25 kms from Nandi Hills, 26 km from Yelahanka and there is a dearth of medical facilities in these areas. Since these areas are prone to road traffic accidents, it’s extremely important to have a good medical facility that is well-equipped to handle both small and large medical emergencies. Also, both Doddaballapur and Yelahanka are sprawling with upcoming apartments and residential projects thus leading to the need of medical facilities in a driving distance,”

Recently, on 7th June, 2016 (Tuesday) around 8:45 am, a bus and a private tempo met with a road traffic accident near Apparel Park, Bashettihalli, Doddaballapur. The incident took place 750 metres from Columbia Clinic, Doddaballapur. Around 40 patients were brought to the Columbia Clinic – Doddaballapur in 108 ambulances, private autos and Columbia Clinic ambulances.

“The patients were quickly attended by our doctors and triaged according to their injuries/ condition. We also performed diagnostic X-rays, scans and CT studies for the patients required,” said Dr. Nitin Jawahar, Hospital Manager, Columbia Clinic – Doddaballapur

All the patients treated in Columbia Clinic were stabilized and discharged from the hospital.
