In today’s troubled times, parents are concerned about the safety of their children because of the challenging situations they face at school, at day care centers, online and among their peers. On occasion of Children’s day, The Resort had organized a children safety workshop in association with Kidpower India and it was meant to coach children to keep themselves safe from bullying, stop unwanted touch, set clear & appropriate boundaries and advocate for themselves. These “People Safety Skills” are aimed at making a lasting difference in a child’s life and help to transform the fear and anxiety into a future of lifelong safety and success.

Adult leadership is essential to keeping our kids safe, in our overly-busy lives at times we get distracted and might miss out on signs of bullying or other problems faced by our children, Hence, this workshop simultaneously coached parents to stay involved and initiate dialogue on safety with their children.

And it is with this motive The Resort had organized a safety workshop for children aged 7-11 years on November 11, 2017 at 1pm. On this special occasion Mr. Satyajit Kotwal, GM, The Resort says,“ I feel worst a child’s abuse and earlier it is experienced in life….longer it takes for him to get over it and at times can never get over it. I feel educating every child at a correct age to realize what is wrong and informing about it to parents is very essential”.

The time-tested evidence based practices teaches children positive, practical and effective ways to think, move, speak and stay safe in challenging personal safety situations.

According to Ms. Sneha Mayekar, Associate Center Director, KidpowerIndia, “When it comes to our children we rarely compromise, almost always we make the best choices. Let’s make one such best choice by coaching them “People Safety Skills” that will empower them to take charge of their safety. We are excited to associate with The Resort for this children safety workshop and truly appreciate their sense of responsibility towards Child Safety”.

In this 1 hour 30 minutes interactive workshop children were given demonstrations and they learned through practice skills. They were taught about safety rules with strangers, taking charge of emotional safety, telling & dealing with bullying behavior, setting of personal boundaries and much more. Kids learnd through role playing, and by reading the safety comics. They were given Kidpower safety badges and comics. Kids have attended this workshop with their parents who will help them practice the techniques at home.
