Brainly Celebrates the zeal of teachers with Shikshak of the Year – 2020

Calls out for nominations across all fields in categories including Best School Teachers/Principal, Best Offline Tutor, and Best Online Tutor

 

Mumbai, September 20, 2020: The COVID-19 pandemic has pushed the prevalent education system to the wall, enabling technology to become the new normal of distance learning. Teachers were quick to  adapt to an almost overnight change and pooled in extra hours to help their students stay focused, ensuring the quality of teaching remained top-class.

 

To recognize the hard work of the educators in this difficult transition, Brainly, the world’s largest online learning  platform for students, teachers, and parents, has announced the ‘Shikshak of the Year 2020’ awards. It honours all educators who have gone above and beyond the set standards to make a difference in the lives of their students. Shikshak of the Year 2020 is sponsored by Prosus Ventures (formerly Naspers Ventures), which is the main partner for the awards.

 

Speaking on the occasion, Rajesh Bysani, CPO of Brainly said, “All teachers have gone an extra mile to ensure that students don’t fall behind. They have left an indelible mark on our memories and we can never forget their contribution and thank them enough for the role they play in shaping our lives. Shikshak of the Year is an initiative that aims to recognise their contribution for and beyond academics.”

 

Shikshak of the Year comes as the first-of-its-kind contest in India by Brainly. The nominations are open for educators across all fields under the categories of:

 

1.       Shikshak of the Year: School Teachers/Principal : Prize money of INR 75K will be awarded to the winning teacher

2.       Shikshak of the Year: Offline Tutor (teachers in the tuition and coaching centre): Prize money of INR 75K will be awarded to the winning teacher

3.       Shikshak of the Year: Online Tutor/Educator (for ex. Youtubers in educational category): Prize money of INR 75K will be awarded to the winning teacher

 

In addition to the winning teacher/principal of any school, a donation of INR 375K will be made to the school to enhance their infrastructure for online teaching.

 

The best student nominator in each category will also be rewarded with cash prizes.
