Bands from across the globe Jazz up the finale of GIJLF

Goa, November 26: After a blow-out concert on Saturday, Teamwork Art’sJazz India Circuit at the Stonewater Eco Resort ended on high notes of incredible saxophone and percussion by groups gathered from across the world to present the Goa International Jazz Live Festival.

The evening began with True School All Stars, a faculty band of the True School of Music, featuring artists from India, Hungary, Greece Germany, Italy and Spain. The performance evolved out of a day’s workshop effectively captured the mood of ‘experimental jazz’.YuichiroTokuda’sRalyzzdig, blew the standing-room-only audience away with their incredible and energetic “cutting edge progressive jazz”.

Tam de Villiers quartet (France)created incredible sounds matched to the waves washing up off the rocky beach of Bogmalo. Next up was Brit “punk-jazz” by the World Service Project bringing together two of the most alarming genre titles in the history of 20th-century music with athrilling theatrical live performanceshowing why they’re arguably one of Europe’s finest live-acts.

A fitting finale byMalika Tirolien (Canada) had fans on their feet screaming for more with her blend of jazz and Caribbean.

Music for the soul and food for thought was on offer at theMerry Melange curated by the Goan Foodie including Chef Marlon Lobo’s own Goan Foodie BBQ, kebabs and biryanis at the Gourmet Guardian and Martin’s delectable steaks and sliders. Also on sale were handcrafted items featuring contemporary handcrafted items curated by Direct Create, a digital led platform that connects indigenous artists straight to the market place.
