P&G’s flagship Corporate Social Responsibility program P&G Shiksha continues to march forward with the motto ‘Padhega India, Badhega India’. Now in its 12th year, P&G Shiksha continues to make critical infrastructure and learning interventions by building and supporting schools across the country thereby providing underprivileged children with access to education. This year, P&G Shiksha launched ‘Shiksha Superheroes’ a campaign to acknowledge consumers, the real-life superheroes who made a simple brand choice of buying P&G products and contributing to this noble cause impacting the lives of thousands of underprivileged children. Joining the movement this year in Mumbai, the renowned Indian cricketer Ajinkya Rahane donned the avatar of ‘Shiksha Superhero’ and unveiled the new impact numbers for P&G Shiksha. Till date, P&G Shiksha has built and supported more than 1000 schools which will impact the lives of around 10,00,000 children through educational interventions right from Kashmir to Kanyakumari.
To celebrate this milestone impact, Shiksha Superhero Ajinkya Rahane interacted with students of P&G Shiksha School. Rahane emphasized on the importance of education in the lives of children and encouraged the people of India and Mumbai to be Shiksha Superheroes by simply choosing P&G Products and contribute to the education of underprivileged children. Rahane shared his school memories with the children and was very impressed with the confidence, intelligence and exuberance demonstrated by them.
Pledging his support, renowned cricketer and Shiksha Superhero Ajinkya Rahane said, “I am glad to be given this wonderful opportunity of being a Shiksha Superhero and support the cause of education by P&G Shiksha. It is great to see that over the last 12 years, 1000 schools have been built and supported which will impact over 10 lakh children. Interacting with such bright minds from the P&G Shiksha School has been a wonderful and humbling experience. In my life, I am thankful to my Education that gave me the discipline and drive to follow my dreams and has played a very important role in moulding me as an individual and a cricketer.”
He further added, “Today, after talking to P&G Shiksha school children, I realized that how simple it is to be a Shiksha Superhero and impact the lives of these children. Everyone can become a real-life Superhero, all you have to do is choose P&G products and become part of the P&G Shiksha movement that will enable you to contribute towards education of underprivileged children. Like me, I want to encourage the people of India to be Shiksha Superheroes by making the simple brand choice of buying P&G products and make a difference in the lives of many more children. It is a simple and small choice from our end but has a large impact on the lives of these children.”
