Schwarzkopf Professional, a global leader in professional hair care, unveiled “The Essential Looks Spring Summer 2016” at Taj Lands End, Mumbai, today. Essential Looks celebrates hairdressers’ passion for hair, fashion, the future and encapsulates it into a luxuriously glossy trend book, a digital app, a breath-taking catwalk show and a stage event featuring live cuts and colours.

Taking inspiration from international fashion runways, Essential Looks condenses the looks into distinct trends that are incredibly diverse, each set to ignite creative hairdressers’ imaginations. This Spring/Summer, Essential Looks has created the ‘Made to Create Collection’; the sporty edge of URBAN SPORTS, the quirky and individual FREECREATION, and the space age FUTURE WAVE.

The event was presented by Simon Ellis, Corporate Vice President – International Professional Partner Services, Henkel Beauty Care, Kartik Kaushik, Country Head, Henkel Beauty Care Professional India and Najeeb Ur Rehman, Director – Professional Partner Services, Henkel Beauty Care India with Aditi Rao Hydari, critically acclaimed Indian film actress, as the showstopper of the collection.

The first of the three trends presented onstage by Mr. Simon Ellis was URBAN SPORTS – inspired by cool trainers, tracksuits and light-as-air fabrics. The trend compliments sportswear making it look good like never before. With intense colours to create bold colour effects using IGORA ColorWorx, the look uses the ultimate modern textures – flicks, quiffs, silky straight looks and top knots.

Next was FREECREATION – a fashion statement featuring layered looks for the individual with style and panache. Brilliant blonde hues and tones with strong graphic shapes, choppy texture and long tamed hair are used create to the look. Blonde hues and tones were delivered with our new IGORA VARIO BLOND Cream Lightener.

The third trend was FUTURE WAVE – where pure white and metallic silver, space age jackets and hoodies embrace the future. Showcasing a barely-there colour statement using our IGORA ROYAL Nude Tones, voluminous curls and languid waves ensure this trend has a broad appeal.

Speaking on the occasion Simon Ellis, Corporate Vice President – International Professional Partner Services, Henkel Beauty Care, “Instilling the right training and skills is the fundamental growth driver of our industry. Through ‘Essential Looks Spring Summer 2016’ tonight, we aim to showcase and also educate the hairdressers’ community about seasonal trends; along with holistic training that helps inculcate basic skills and knowledge to become a better hairdresser.
