Road-show on Textiles India-2017 inaugurated in Mumbai

Mumbai, June 12, 2017 : Textile India 2017 is a landmark Global Trade event  for the Indian Textile and handicraft Sector that will showcase the entire range of textile products from ‘Fibre to Fashion’ and will be inaugurated by the Prime Minister Narendra Modi in Gandhinagar on June 30, said Textile Secretary Anant Kumar Singh. He was speaking after the inauguration of Road Show on Textile India 2017 in Mumbai today. The Secretary in his address also informed that the aim of the mega event is to position Textiles India as a mega Annual International Event bringing Global and Indian leaders together on one platform and to showcase India’s strength in the entire gamut of textile and apparel value chain. Textiles India 2017 is being organized at a time when the world is beginning to emerge from the second round impact of the global economic crisis, the underlying growth impetus remains strong due to continued rise in per capita incomes, expanding middle-class consumers and a young energetic workforce, he added.

CII is the Industry partner for the event.

This mega event will have more than a thousand stalls and will witness the presence of over 2500 discerning International buyers, agents, designers and retail chains from across the world.  The three day event will include global conferences with six themes, to be chaired by concerned Union Ministers and the Valedictory session presided over by the Union Finance Minister. Maharashtra, Assam, Andhra Pradesh would be the partner states of the event and Jharkhand would be the Special focus state.

Over 24 round tables will be held on issues of concern for the various segments of textiles and handicrafts with prominent international speakers and industry leaders.  This mega event shall have Dedicated Sector Specific Theme Pavilions, Pavilions of Focus Countries which include UK, USA, Germany, Japan, South Korea, Turkey, Australia, ASEAN and BIMSTEC.

The Road-show was coordinated and organized by CII, Powerloom Development and Export Promotion Council (PDEXCIL).
