All India, 14th December 2016: Abu Dhabi Food Festival which was brought to India for the first time in history, concluded successfully at the Ziya Restaurant, The Oberoi Mumbai. The food festival which was launched with a media event on the 9th December was later opened for the public on the 10th & 11th December. UAE ambassador H.E. Dr. Ahmed Albanna was the guest of honour at the event.

Our celebrity chef- Khulood Atiq wowed people by her aromatic food, thereby creating a niche for the Emirati cuisine. A sumptuous celebration of Emirati- Indian fusion food was served to the people, which they truly relished. In order to portray the strong relations and similar food palate between India and the Emirates, this initiative is furthermore believed to strengthen our relationship.

The media event started with a food workshop, wherein Chef Khulood gave a live demonstration of Emirati food. The room was filled with the aroma of delicious Emirati biryani and tempting Aseda.

In order to inculcate India’s position as the best source market for Abu Dhabi tourism, this initiative would prove to be a great step ahead. In the first half of this year 152,423 Indians checked into Abu Dhabi hotels which was a 20% year-over-year increase. Indian guests accounted for 7% of all hotel stays in the Emirate, with a longer-than-average stay of 3.4 nights. Furthermore, we intend to either increase this value or maintain the same ratio in the coming year.

While speaking to India’s country Manger, Mr Bejan Dinshaw, he said “We have now created a niche in the India market for Emirati cuisine. Hence, by bringing this food festival to India people here savoured the taste of Indian-Emirati fusion food. We are extremely delighted to have our celebrity chef Khulood, who made this event all the more successful thereby creating a trademark of the authentic food.”
