Paella - The Taj Mahal Palace, Mumbai22nd November 2017, Mumbai: Announcing the Spanish Extravaganza – the most exciting culinary event the city has ever seen. Taj Hotels Palaces Resorts Safaris, is set to present its guests with yet another stellar gastronomic experience by bringing in the ‘Spanish Extravaganza’ to India from 30th November to 3rd December 2017.

The four-day experience will celebrate Spain’s finest flavors at the Taj’s flagship The Taj Mahal Palace Hotel in Mumbai. Arriving in India from Seoul, the Spanish Extravaganza will take place at the Chambers, The Taj Mahal Palace Hotel, before it moves to its next destination in Doha. Seven culinary masters will combine their exemplary knowledge, trademark styles and unique recipes for an elite clientele in the city.

The Spanish Extravaganza promises to unravel the exquisite secrets of Spanish culinary arts. Guests will be spoilt for choice; they can indulge in a specially curated menu by Michelin-starred chefs Juan Crujeiras and Rafael Centeno; get a taste of Spain’s resplendent culinary history with paella master Hector Lopez; and appreciate offerings from tapas gurus Lucia Freitas and Benigno Couso. Traditional Spanish wines, carefully selected by father & son sommelier duo Luis and Alejandro Paadin will come together to enhance the experience.

The stellar team will present its craft in the form of two experiences spread over the duration of the tour. The five-course fine dining Michelin dinner experience will be accompanied by live music and an exclusive wine-paired menu featuring Torres Wines with Grey Goose and Perrier. Alternately, guests can savour the Paella and Tapas experience, where live cooking stations will bring alive the flavours of the Mediterranean country, with gala entertainment in the form of traditional flamenco and salsa dances.

Renowned for setting benchmarks in food and beverage offerings, Taj has achieved several new milestones in recent years. Taj Hotels brought Michelin-starred chefs Sriram Aylur and Srijith Gopinathan to the Indian shores for the first time; it introduced Mumbai to its first gastro bar with House of Nomad; it unveiled the new avatar of the legendary Shamiana and recreated the taste of Peruvian cuisine with a pop-up gastronomic gala of the celebrated COYA restaurant from London. Taj’s collaboration with the prestigious Ducasse Education network gave a chance to pastry enthusiasts and pâtissiers across the country to learn techniques and trends of classic French Culinary & Patisserie making, through a series of masterclasses with renowned Parisian chef Alain Ducasse. Taj also recently brought acclaimed chefs, the Suhring brothers, to Mumbai for an unparalleled dining experience celebrating the finest contemporary German cuisine.
